Pagan Pride Detroit 2009 will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2009.
Green Acres Park, in lovely Hazel Park, Michigan between 10am-6pm
Pagan Pride Detroit is a once a year event where pagans of all faiths join together to celebrate religious diversity and pride. We gather to educate, inspire and dispell myths and negative sterotypes about our religious and spiritual paths. This event is open to people of all faiths and beliefs. Open minds required!
Pagans across the Metro Detroit area (90 mile radius from the center of Hart Plaza) gather as part of the international movement of Pagan Pride. Pagan Pride Detroit is part of the larger Pagan Pride Project which is home to hunderds of events across the world. Bringing together like minded individuals so that no one feels alone or outcast any longer. We all have our differences, but at our Pride event, differences are put aside, and diversity is embraced and encouraged.
What can you expect in 2009 --- lots of changes and improvements. Our family/kids section will run a separate full agenda (not available yet), featuring Quidditch and Tug-of-War. Altar-scapes will be returning again by popular demand. We have added more more music - yes, there will be drumming!! We are expanding our food sales to include, halal and no-meat alternatives! Riutals, workshops, lectures, healing, readers and more will back again this year... so be sure to make the day!
Our event is totally volunteer organized and supported by our gracious sponsors, all who truley believe there can be no community without you! These individuals put service before self and support through their actions and/or finances, and we hope you show your support to them by visiting their sites and services.
